Buthaina Homestay

If you fancy waking up in the early morning to the sound of the Palestinian Goldfinch and Canary, drinking hot Arabic coffee under an emerald grapevine and eating freshly picked Clementine with your warm Tabon bread and Zeit and Zatar, then Um Ayman's house is the place to sleep at.

In Aseera al-Shamaliya village, Um Ayman used to live in a double story building with her four children and husband, but now she lives all by herself after her husband passed away in 2009 and her children moved to the UAE. Finding herself suddenly alone didn discourage or make her succumb to negative thoughts. Um Ayman, who has a bachelor degree in English, decided to teach in a nearby school, and soon realized she, can do more. Um Ayman became involved in voluntary work until she finally decided to start her own charity. I lost my husband and have plenty of free time so I will make sure that every second is filled with good work.

Through her charity, Um Ayman empowers women, supports orphans and tutor students who face difficulties in studying. She organizes trainings to teach women crafts to support them financially and brings tutors to teach students. Um Ayman has successfully taken advantage of her time, but found herself in need to fill her house. My house is empty so I decided to open it to people and tourists who need a home while on the road. The house occupies a strategic location in Aseera al-Shamaliya; it is close to the town center, has plenty of windows overlooking hills, olive and fig groves, fully furnished, extremely clean and built in the middle of a basket of fruits.
Um Ayman is a woman who doesn't stick long to one hobby, because she loves exploring new ideas. She loves planting roses and fruit trees. She enjoys knitting and has made beautiful decoration, which gives her house a unique air. She loves reading to the extent that many refer to her as the encyclopedia on Palestine's history. In short, she is a woman who has plenty to give and is willing to give it to everyone in exchange of good company.
